Ryan Higa (born June 6, 1990) is a YouTube personality from Hilo, Hawaii, known by his YouTube username, nigahiga. As of August 2008, Higa is the #2 most subscribed user on YouTube with over 400,000 subscribers and over 11 million channel views. His main co-star is Sean Fujiyoshi. With just a Panasonic video camera and a home computer, these Big Island teenagers from Waiakea High School have taken their comedy skits and rocketed themselves to internet stardom. Higa's interest in science has led him to pursue nuclear medicine at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he will be a freshman this fall.
In July 2008, Ryan Higa's YouTube channel, nigahiga, had over 300,000 subscribers, making it one of the site's most subscribed channels. By June 2009, he passed the 1,000,000 subscriber mark and ranked as YouTube's second most subscribed channel, just short of Fred's 1,258,378 subscribers. As of July 10, 2009, nigahiga had 1,206,414 subscribers.
